Molly + Jess | Gay Wedding Celebration at Dowds’ Country Inn | Lyme, New Hampshire

by Emily Pogozelski

From the moment we met Molly and Jess we knew we were a good fit. From the cats in their sweet country home to the way they made us (and each other!) laugh, to our meet up in the local Norwich Inn pub for hot pretzels and a drink, our relationship felt like one with old friends, not just new clients. We were excited to hear about their close family connections, particularly with their young daughter and their supportive parents on both sides; having happy friends and family to celebrate your momentous life decision is everything.

This sweet wedding celebration, months after their private mountainside ceremony, was held at the rustic and comfortable Dowds’ Country Inn, which has been run by the Dowd family for generations. Located in Lyme, New Hampshire, just north of the famous Dartmouth College, Dowds’ now features an Irish pub with delicious brews and bites, perfect for guests staying on site or nearby (or even for a little pre-or-post-wedding snack or cheers). Dowds’ has special meaning to us, as we nearly chose it as our own venue when we were planning a wedding for 2011; sadly when we moved our wedding up by a full year they weren’t available, but we still think of it as “our” place regardless. The catering and coordination here are headed by innkeeper Tami Dowd, who runs a tight ship and creates memorable wedding days for everyone involved.

Back to Molly and Jess. Clearly these two were meant to be together; you can tell by the way they lean into each other whenever possible, the natural ease with which they touch and laugh and kiss for all the world to see. We couldn’t stop grinning throughout the entire day, and we think you’ll love these images too. xoxo– Em + Steve
