Nancy + Andrew. How can I describe their delightful day? The relaxed vibe, the friends and family eager to celebrate, the down-to-earth venue, two adorable dogs, and the wildflower theme… it would have been perfect no matter how the weather turned out, but then Vermont truly delivered. On what should have been a dreary day we had early hours of sunshine, a glorious breeze, and dramatic skies that only gave way to rain once everyone…

We first met up with Nina + AJ at the base of Mount Mansfield just before their engagement session. The adventurous spirit that brought us to the top of a 4000′ Vermont peak on that sunny June afternoon was present throughout their entire wedding day. (Of course having Hildene as the background for their Vermont wedding doesn’t hurt!) Nina began her day at the nearby Hill Farm Inn while AJ got ready with family and…

When we first met Tara and Kevin at their engagement session last year, we fell in love with both of them. Tara won us over with her genuine sweetness, while Kevin cracked us up like no other client ever has. We figured we would laugh on their wedding day too, but we had no idea how good things would get. More on that in a minute. Weddings at the Hillsboro Club in Hillsboro Beach, a…

Sometimes wedding clients find us in straightforward ways, and sometimes things wind up lining up in slightly more complex patterns. Jessica found us because she also went to college at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where Em graduated over ten years ago with a BFA in photography. Adding to that connection, this couple planned their wedding in a lovely part of South Carolina, just a tiny detour off of our planned route north…

One of our favorite South Florida wedding venues is the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. The unique surroundings, the opportunity for varied and natural portraits, and the modern, outdoor ceremony and reception locations are perfectly suited for our style of photography. Jackie + Sean chose to have their wedding ceremony and celebration at the Morikami after getting ready at Jackie’s childhood home and a nearby hotel. The day started off threatening and rainy, with sudden…

Spending time with Lindsay + Deche is like a breath of fresh air. Their love for each other is palpable, and their care and affection for the people around them– from their closest loved ones down to the service staff at their wedding venue– is kind and genuine. They laugh from the tips of their toes, crinkling their eyes and grinning for the whole world to see. Spending a day with them feels like we’re all…

Morgan + Billy’s North Palm Beach wedding was held at the Lost Tree Club, a beautiful and isolated private community just steps from the ocean and the intracoastal waterway. The day began at a private home nearby where Morgan completed her preparations surrounded by her loving friends and family, and moved swiftly to their first look by the Lost Tree Beach Club, held during a few moments of mostly open skies before the heavier rains…

We’re back and blogging! So happy to be back in the office for a few minutes at a time, we’ve been running all over the country for the last few months. Thank you to all of our clients for your patience while we get your blog posts together, we know you want to share images with your friends, loved ones, and maybe those people from high school you didn’t really like but wouldn’t mind impressing…

A hot summer wedding in the Keys? Jenna + PJ managed to pull it off with elegance, keeping their guests cool with an indoor ceremony and reception at the Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo… while spending a bit of time with a cherry classic car outside for portraits. We were so happy to bear witness and document the range of emotions that flooded the entire day; from joyous laughter during the ceremony to family tears during…

As we’ve surely mentioned before, becoming friends with our clients is our normal routine. Not only does it make the wedding day more fun, it tends to make the images feel more intimate and connected when we’re already close with the people in them. Occasionally we’ll connect with a couple more strongly than we usually do, which is one of the best feelings in the world; this is how we feel about Sarah + Todd.…

We’ve been meaning to post this wonderful wedding for a while, but travel and our shooting schedule kept getting in the way! After the momentous news about the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality last month, we got an excited email from Lori + Sara encouraging us to post images from their wedding. Thanks for the prodding! We’re so happy for you and for everyone!  –Em + Steve Working with Lori + Sara on their wedding…

We can’t help but grin every time we think of Angela + John. It doesn’t hurt that they have adorable cats [who made a cameo at their engagement session last fall], and that they’re some of the most laid-back and happy people we’ve ever known. Their wedding day was the epitome of relaxation; despite all the potential stressors of a day this complex, these two let everything just melt away while they laughed and enjoyed…

One of the things we love about client referrals is that sometimes we recognize a few people at a wedding. Even better? When a bride of ours from a couple of years ago refers her brother and future sister-in-law and we recognize half of the family at the entire event. This would lead to a very relaxed feeling to the day in general, but Mindy + Anthony’s wedding was even smoother than we’d expected. The perfect…

One of the best things about our chosen path in photography is getting to meet new people and make new friends. You may recall Megan + Glen and their beautiful daughter Gabby from family portrait sessions we’ve published here; we actually met them at the wedding of their besties Nicole + Scott two years ago, and we were beyond thrilled when they asked us to be their photographers for their own wedding day. In what ended up…

Lisa + Dave love a good party. Their relaxed wedding day was the perfect lead up to their reception, which felt like a warm gathering of fun friends and awesome relatives. We started in their neighborhood of Abacoa in Jupiter, headed down to the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens for the beautiful morning ceremony and portraits, and finished the day at the Abacoa Golf Club, just steps away from their home and the bar Dave owns, Das…

The summer weather in South Florida is wildly unpredictable. Generally one can expect it to be hot [obviously], but we sometimes have days of relentless sunshine followed by sudden torrential downpours. Or hurricanes. (We don’t get “drizzle”. If it’s raining, you’ll notice; it’s typically blowing sideways.) When we photograph weddings in the summer in Florida we tend to go with the philosophy of, “Hey. You’ll say vows! And we’ll take photos. We’ll play the rest…

Our 4th of July holiday weekend kicked off with Mai-Vi + Paul’s intimate wedding in Boca Raton on July 3rd. We were blown away by the relaxed atmosphere of the small group of relatives and close friends, and felt immediately welcome. Mai-Vi started her day by going on a “fun run” with her girls (“just ten miles”– wow!), and then settled into her air conditioned suite at the Boca Raton Resort + Club to get ready.…

Andrea + Stephen found us because of networking, though in a very roundabout way. Em’s stepmother met a talented makeup artist in Burlington, Vermont a while back, and eventually we met Vivian Infantino in person while she was visiting family in Florida. We had yet to work together on a shoot, but kept meeting up for coffee (and eventually for some portraits of Vivian herself, in Hanover NH last summer). We were delighted when her nephew’s…

We love our clients, and we love their weddings; from the most intimate elopement to the craziest blowout party, each event signifies families and friends coming together to celebrate the union of a couple they love to pieces. Natalie + Tim’s elegant black tie ball was no exception. Every part of the day was filled with laughter and smiles, friends and family there to help and witness. We knew when we photographed this beautiful couple…

Going into Alex + Jared’s Palm Beach destination wedding we knew that they were drawing people from all over the United States and beyond. Friends and family came from Boston, New Hampshire, California, and Alex’s grandparents flew from nearby (ha!) Romania. (They were a delight.) Some flew in for New Year’s Eve celebrations a few days before the big day, some flew in for the rehearsal, and some were delayed on their way back out…

Anna + Michael found us through their beautiful ceremony venue, the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach, Florida. Planning from far away Colorado, we didn’t have a chance to meet them until a couple of days before the big day, but their excited conversation and laid back, easy going personalities were infectious, and immediately won our hearts. Asking us to focus on capturing the day through candids, with a priority on their guests…

Cheryl + Derek’s wedding was one of those days that we expected to go well. The weather was decent (hot, but that’s normal). The locations were gorgeous. The flowers, details, clothing… everything was set up for it to go as well as possible. We expected the day to go well; we were truly touched and amazed by how perfect it was. Having a very intimate wedding with only family and a few close friends makes…

Julissa + Rod wed before their closest family and friends at an intimate ceremony and reception in Palm Beach, at the Four Seasons Resort. Originally from Peru, Julissa’s friends and family traveled from destinations near and far, including a group of girls she has known since childhood who have all managed to stay in touch despite having scattered around the Americas in recent years. Seeing Rod’s face at their First Look was a high point…

We joined Cindy + Alan for their weekend of wedding celebrations in Key West. The weather was warm, but a refreshingly brisk breeze held a hint of fall, even in this beach setting. Cindy got ready at the Hyatt before their waterfront ceremony, where close friends and family gathered and Alan’s daughter and son served as maid of honor and best man. After portraits around the Hyatt property, everyone waved goodbye to Cindy + Alan…

Julie + Brian planned one of the most laid back, relaxing weddings we’ve been to… but how could it be anything but relaxing at a beautiful resort in the US Virgin Islands? We joined the happy couple and a small group of close family and friends for a weekend celebration of Julie + Brian’s love and marriage at the Sugar Bay Resort + Spa on St. Thomas. The weather looked threatening leading up to the…

Meeting Brigid + Josh last summer for their engagement session was a wonderful surprise. We don’t usually book couples for wedding photography via email, so meeting someone with our big cameras in hand must be a bit intimidating– this happy couple handled it all in stride. Their love for each other shone that day, as we walked through downtown White River Junction, Vermont. We loved that they added in a nod to their planned honeymoon…

Saturday was one of those spring days in Florida where the weather looked threatening, with looming clouds and spitting rain… but despite everything managed to hold off for Krista + Mark’s elegant wedding celebration at the Seagate Beach Club in Delray Beach. (Click below for more of Krista + Mark’s wedding day!)

Jessica and Ian were married on the 23rd of May at Rockledge Farm in Weathersfield, Vermont.  It was a perfect late spring afternoon, sunny and warm… the weather couldn’t have been better!  We had a great time celebrating with Jessica & Ian and their families, and came home with so many great images.

We had the honor of photographing a fellow wedding photographer’s wedding a few weeks ago in Siesta Key, Florida.  We all stayed at a charming group of cottages and enjoyed the entire weekend of family and friends visiting from near and far.  Below are some of our favorites… enjoy!
