Kate + Matt’s beautiful wedding day took place at the Jackson Gore Inn, a property within Okemo Mountain’s vast holdings. The Inn proved to be the perfect place for both bride and groom to get ready in separate suites, with the ceremony a quick golf cart ride away at the Toll Gate Garden, a new ceremony site that is so perfectly suited to a sweet outdoor ceremony that we’re surprised it wasn’t used sooner. Overlooking lovely hills and a picturesque blue sky dotted with white puffy clouds, the ceremony site is lined with a stately stone wall, and has nearby gardens and a screened-in gazebo for the bride and her ladies to await the beginning of the service. Photographing weddings at Okemo is always beautiful, but this location has convenience going for it, particularly if there are elderly or infirm family members who might not be able to make it up the mountain to more epic vistas. While possibly not quite as majestic as the peak, the Toll Gate Garden has a sweet intimacy all its own, and should not be ignored as a solid option.
The indoor reception space provided a respite from the summer day’s heat; the Roundhouse, with high ceilings and a rustic, barn-like feel, nevertheless has modern amenities including that elusive Vermont must-have when the mercury starts to climb: air conditioning! With refreshing drinks and cool air the guests and wedding party revived and treated us to an exuberant showing of support for this sweet couple with toasts, tears, applause, and of course, dancing. We hope you enjoy a few of our favorites below; we certainly love them! xoxo– Em + Steve
