Weddings in Vermont are always beautiful, but there’s something about photographing Vermonters in their own state that makes me especially happy. Courtney + Matt call the Burlington area home, but chose to celebrate their wedding at one of our favorite places: Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home. By pure luck they wound up with one of the most spectacular fall days I’ve ever seen: foliage bursting with color, blue skies peppered with little clouds, and weather seasonally cool enough to wear some stylish outerwear (without being cold enough to really need it).
Getting ready at a nearby home made for the perfect spot for their first look and family portraits, including photos with their adorable rescue puggles. We wrapped up there with plenty of time before the ceremony began to spend quality time with two important kids: the twin baby goats at Hildene’s farm. (If you’ve never been, you really must make sure to stop there. It’s delightful to see the goats and STUNNINGLY beautiful by the barn!)
