family

Megan, Glen, and Gabby. These three have been in our lives for a few years now, and every time we see them we’re left smiling and content. Watching Gabby grow from a toddling baby to a cute little girl has been a pretty magical experience; in this past year alone we’ve seen her develop from a shy flower girl at Megan + Glen’s wedding into this friendly and outgoing kiddo. (And every time she says our…

In one of those wild coincidences, I planned a trip back to Vermont the same weekend that Jessica + David took their kiddos up for a family visit. Raw weather and a distinct lack of sunshine made for something of a challenge (this part of New England doesn’t often have snow so early in the season, so things mostly just look dead and trampled), but Jessica suggested some of Dartmouth’s campus, as the students were off for break. Perfect!…

We seriously can’t get over how tall this kiddo is. At 5 years old Kylar is already towering over her peers; we’re sure she’s going to get sick of hearing people ask if she’s a model or a basketball pro pretty soon. We love spending time with this family, though it’s a surreal way of realizing that yet another year has flown by (we photographed Kylar as a baby-bump before she was born, and then at…

I met Stacy + Ryan at the very beginning of their love story; while we’ve been in touch on Facebook and other internet connections, we hadn’t actually seen each other in ten years. In the ten years since then life has happened: college degrees, career choices, marriages (theirs; ours), travel, moves, and recently: the birth of their daughter, Evelyn (called Evie). Reconnecting while I was in Colorado Springs on business this fall was a wonderful experience;…

Remember Jessica + David’s first baby, Sterling? (See their first family session from 2012 here.) Sterling is now a big brother, and Em was thrilled that her trip to the northeast coincided with Laurence’s birth (the family is calling him Laure). Em and Jessica went to the same elementary school, though several years apart, and connected later while Em was still in high school when Jessica started directing small outdoor productions of Shakespeare. (Believe it…

We’ve kept in touch with the delightful Duffy family since Jessica + Ian were married in 2010. We hadn’t had a chance to photograph their newest addition to the family yet, so late afternoon at the family’s farm and woodshop was a real treat (speaking of which, you should check out Rockledge Farm for beautiful handmade furniture and kitchen tools). See a few of our favorites from their session earlier this summer below, and get in…

Reyne + Mark joined us with their daughter Aubrey for some casual family portraits in the park this fall. We love family portrait sessions like this; we can just imagine Aubrey growing older and looking back on these images, amazed at how small she looks in her daddy’s arms, at her glowing natural curls and hesitant smile, at the love radiating from the three of them. Family portraits do more than show what people look like…

Every time we photograph Miss Kylar Rose we are reminded of how time must be speeding up; she’s turning into a young lady so quickly. (See her 3 Year Session and 2 Year Session) We love the many faces of Kylar Rose, but especially the way she can stare straight through you. Not only will she be a beautiful woman when she grows up, but she’s already showing signs of strength and independence, just like…

Part of why we love what we do is that we get to meet new people all the time. And sometimes those new people introduce us to their friends, and suddenly we have lots of awesome in our lives. We met Megan + Glen at Nicole + Scott’s wedding earlier this year in Naples, Florida, and were so excited when they asked us to take their daughter Gabby’s 2 Year portraits this summer. We went…

We met up with Kameron + Brandon (and their mom Karen, and her mom Sandy) at the park the other day for some family portraits. Karen knows her twins are a bit rambunctious and wanted us to document them the way they are… always running, jumping, yelling, and generally being “boys”. We managed to get some group shots and a few calm portraits too, but it’s the wild shots that really show their personalities! Lots…

We’re coming up on Terra + Scott’s third anniversary, and we’re finally meeting baby Georgia! Terra and Georgia met with Emily for a mini session with Terra’s sister Taylor, their parents (Terri + Tom), and grandparents (Bert + Emma) in the park. The weather was gorgeous, and Georgia is quite the little peach! (Have you ever seen eyes like that?? They are NOT Photoshopped!) We’re so happy to see this family grow, and can’t wait…

We’ve been looking forward to this shoot for years! Julia + Carlos were married way back in 2009 (before the Pogos were married, and before we renamed the business Pogo Photo), and we’ve been hoping for a family shoot with them ever since. Well, baby Linus is finally here! We met with the whole family (including sweet Doe Bear, who wore her own tiny wedding dress years ago), and had absolutely perfect weather in the…

This session means a lot to us… Jeremiah and Steve have known each other since high school, a friendship that has stayed steady despite crazy work schedules and growing families (need an AC guy? Jeremiah is the best. Leave a comment for contact info!). Jeremiah + Ashley’s wedding was one of the only ones we’ve attended (since we usually shoot them!), and we’ve been trying to get them in front of our lenses since we found…

It feels like time is set to “fast forward”, especially when we start seeing the babies we were photographing [what seems like] yesterday growing up, talking, running, playing. Kylar Rose and her family are very special to us, and it’s such a treat to see her growing into a young lady. We’re calling this Kylar’s 3 year session, though she’s almost 3 1/2… scheduling can sure get complicated when we travel so much! (Check out…

We just couldn’t resist scheduling Kathryn’s 2 year photos in Charleston, SC while we were in town for Tina + Angleo’s wedding weekend. Kathryn was their beautiful flower girl, while her mom Julie was Tina’s Matron of Honor. Daddy Nate couldn’t make it to this one, so we just did pics of Kathryn + Mommy… aren’t they beautiful together? (The first picture is when I asked Kathryn to look inside my lens and see it…

Jessica + Ian were married in Vermont just months before we were (check out their wedding pictures here), and now have a beautiful daughter, Navah. We joined this happy family in Norwich, Vermont for a portrait session in the early evening. The New England weather had been fickle for weeks, but amazingly we managed to have a perfect evening of golden sunshine! Navah’s face lights up when she sees her Mommy and Daddy (if you…

Jessica and David were among my first clients, way back before Pogo Photo, before Steve, before Florida, in the early years of my college studies at SCAD. I met Jessica years before that, when she was directing local plays in Vermont and cast me as Celia in As You Like It (and we both discovered that acting—and memorizing lines—were not my strong points, though it was a fun experience). Far, far away, Jessica met David…

Reyne and her adorable daughter Aubrey joined us in the park in Jupiter for a Mommy+Me session earlier this week. We loved watching both of their faces light up while looking at each other… and wow, doesn’t Reyne look amazing?!

The holidays are always a good time to get the whole family together! We joined this happy family the day after Christmas in New Port Richey, Florida for some long overdue family portraits. Emily has actually been photographing members of this family since 2001, making them officially our longest running client. :-) We loved spending time with everyone on the beach while watching the sun set… the Gulf Coast is so peaceful. Please enjoy a…

Emily had the pleasure of joining Miles and his parents for a session in the park recently. He’s at such a great age– every activity is filled with wonder, and nothing can make him laugh like Mom and Dad! We’ve known Miss Kylar Rose and her family since before she was born (and been thrilled to photograph her mom’s maternity session & then her newborn, six months and one year sessions)… and we’ve never met a happier, sweeter child!  She has grown from an adorable baby into a beautiful little girl.  After a lot of rescheduling due to all the rain and thunderstorms we’ve had lately, Emily was finally able to meet Kylar, Megan…

We waited until Christmas Day to post these pictures because up until today they were a secret– from Kim & Jill’s dad! The ladies of the family wanted to give their dad a gift of beautiful portraits, so Emily snuck over to their home in Jupiter while he was still at work. We think all three girls look GREAT… and we’re sure dad will think so too! Click below to see more of our faves.…

We joined Analia and her family (Mike, Luisa and Angie) for her one year session earlier this week at their home in Boynton Beach.  What a perfect day for portraits!  We had fun at the playground, in their backyard, and in their pool.  Isn’t Analia the cutest?

It’s been a long time since we took baby Sinjin’s portraits, and we got to see him with his parents this week!  The family lives in Boston now, so it’s rare that we get to see them, but we managed to squeeze in a quick family session on the beach on Singer Island.  Sinjin is nearly 2 years old, and he’s such a cutie– and a quick learner, too!

While we were in Vermont a couple of weeks ago we had a chance to get together with Eric & Lisa and their three sons for a mini family session in the late afternoon sunshine.  Calvin, Sam and Dawson are so full of energy!  We had an impromptu game of catch, and it was so fun watching the boys chase bubbles.  Click below to see more of our favorites!
