We always find that meeting clients who have booked us via phone or video chat can be a fun experience; we all wonder, what will they be like when they aren’t confined to my device? We needn’t have worried with Hillary and Greg, who immediately put us ease in their DC neighborhood near Meridian Hill Park. We began their engagement session at the park because it’s so close to their daily lives; we had thought it looked like a nice place to create some portraits, but we were blown away by its beauty! The extended stairway that takes you through a huge portion of the park seems to be an overlooked feature, often ignored in favor of the more famous stepped fountains. (A recent water issue meant that the fountains were off that day, but no matter! We had more than enough to work with, and still had another location to hit before dusk.)
We then traveled downtown to a job site where their company is currently undertaking a large construction project; as photographers it’s always interesting to see these places from afar, but we were able to travel to the unfinished rooftop to take some more casual portraits among the tools of the trade. We loved this destination engagement session and the variety of backdrops it provided to us without using too many cheesy monuments! We hope you love our favorites. xoxo– Em + Steve
