Weddings are wonderful. Documenting the joining of two families, with the laughter, tears, joy, and excitement that goes hand-in-hand with any family event is the reason I love my job so much; every celebration feels genuinely unique to me, because the people and their interactions are unique. Once in a while I get to photograph a wedding that takes all of those emotions to the next level, and I wind up going for a ride…

Angela + Kevin’s wedding took place on the longest day of the year… and the sun was ready to show off! We wound up with the most incredible weather: sunny, clear blue skies with puffy clouds, dry, breezy. It really couldn’t have been nicer, and I can confidently say that these two deserved every moment of beautiful sunshine. The ceremony and tented reception took place on Kevin’s family’s land, a sweeping field high above the…

There are plenty of reasons to select Manchester, Vermont as the location for a wedding, but Julie + Zack have a connection to – and an appreciation for – the small mountain town that goes deeper than most. While Manchester may be packed to capacity during fall foliage, Julie + Zack celebrate all four seasons there, cross-country skiing in the winter, golfing anytime there isn’t snow, visiting family in town, and even getting engaged on…

We joined Caroline and Josh in Lake Placid for a weekend full of festivities in late September, and what a celebration it was! An impeccably planned wedding unfolded perfectly; even the weather went according to plan. This was a destination wedding for nearly everyone, and the crisp clean Adirondack air greeted guests who were getting out of the city for a few days to enjoy a BBQ-themed rehearsal dinner, the most intense game of Pictionary…

It’s not very often that we begin conversations with future clients like this: “You know, you guys should just elope. Go somewhere awesome. Keep it tiny. Make it yours.” Wait, that sounds weird. Let’s back up. When we first started exploring the idea of expanding to Vermont for the summer/fall wedding season we met fellow photographer Paul Reynolds through Facebook, and he blew us away with his friendly and welcoming nature. (When we later met…

You may remember Melissa + Ian’s engagement session from last summer; it was photographed at the same location as their wedding, which was a great way to prep for what we all wanted to do for wedding day portraits! Weddings at Aloha Camp are slightly less common than nearby Camp Ohana, which overlooks Lake Fairlee, but given Melissa’s personal and family connections to Aloha it was the obvious choice for such an important day in…

In one of those wild coincidences, I planned a trip back to Vermont the same weekend that Jessica + David took their kiddos up for a family visit. Raw weather and a distinct lack of sunshine made for something of a challenge (this part of New England doesn’t often have snow so early in the season, so things mostly just look dead and trampled), but Jessica suggested some of Dartmouth’s campus, as the students were off for break. Perfect!…

Jessica and Ian were married on the 23rd of May at Rockledge Farm in Weathersfield, Vermont.  It was a perfect late spring afternoon, sunny and warm… the weather couldn’t have been better!  We had a great time celebrating with Jessica & Ian and their families, and came home with so many great images.
